A great holiday choice for large groups of friends and families at any time of the year is the group of cottages on the Glencarron Estate. These three grand and spacious self-catering lodges are set on the western edge of the Scottish Highlands in Wester Ross and provide large groups holidaying together with ample of space, added comfort and stunning Scottish Highland countryside views.
The Glencarron Estate includes Glencarron Lodge, a stunning 11-bedroom property which comfortably accommodates up to 18 guests and can also be booked together with Stag Lodge, an original Victorian estate workers cottage sleeping up to eight guests in four bedrooms. However, please note that when booking Glencarron Lodge and Stag Lodge together to cater for a much larger group, there can only be a maximum of 24 guests at any time.
The third lodge at this small complex of cottages within the Scottish Highlands is Glenuaig Lodge, a four-bedroom Highland property hidden away in the Glenuaig valley down a countryside track in its own remote spot (and only accessible via a 4x4).
This 12,000-acre estate at Glencarron is a fantastic retreat for a relaxing holiday with groups of friends and family but also ideal for enjoying countryside pursuits including walking, hiking, fishing and stalking. Many of these activities can be arranged in advance with the Estate.
The Glencarron Estate Stag and Hind stalking between 1st July and 20th Oct and 21st October and 15th February respectively. The estate will provide guests with a “Stalker” to take them to within shooting distance of the Stag or Hind and Gillies are available to help with the kill. There is also “Photo-Stalking” available with the help of an experienced “Stalker” to help you take the perfect shot.
The Glencarron Estate is situated in a stunning part of the Scottish Highlands at Wester Ross about fifty miles west of Inverness and within easy reach of the beautiful beaches on the West coast. The estate boasts 3 Monros and 8 others within ten miles making it a dream location for serious walkers. The estate is home to a wealth of rare wildlife, such as Golden Eagles, Mountain Hare, Pine Martens and of course several species of deer.
Clay Pigeon shooting is available at Glencarron Estate for as many people as you like for a couple of hours. The price includes a stalker who will offer advice and training, a trap and operator, ear protectors, 50 clays and cartridges additional cost and gratuity for the Stalker.
