Situated on the south coast of Cornwall and providing a beautiful secluded estuary harbour with a lovely coastline all around, Fowey is a perfect destination for a holiday in Cornwall with the family pet. The Ship Inn, situated on the quay, overlooking the harbour, is an old favourite, selling great local food and St.Austell Ales.
This lesser known village, is set on the coast just past it’s busy neighbour, Newquay. Crantock, is a charming Cornish village with two genuine Cornish pubs in the centre of the village; The Cornishman, welcomes dogs inside, whereas The Bowgie Inn, would rather your “soggy” dog remained outside in the dog friendly beer garden.
Helford Village
This stunning pub, overlooks the creek at Helford, the pub serves great food and local beers and welcomes dogs at any time. As the pub is set at the edge of the village, going towards the headland and the passenger ferry quay, it’s a great place to stop off on a long walk around the Helford river.
Falmouth
Tucked away, on the Fal River, in between Truro and Falmouth, is Restronguet Creek, where you will find The Pandora Inn.This 13 Century Inn is an absolute must when visiting Cornwall, with low ceilings and cobbled stone floors, you step back in time. The pub overlooks the estuary and is surrounded by lovely walks, so perfect for the dog. There are loads of tables and chairs outside, so dogs don’t have to hide under the tables in the busy bar.
Helston
Just a few miles off the main road, leading down to the beautiful beach at Gunwalloe Cove. The pub serves award winning food and beers and offers a warm welcome. The stunning beach at Gunwalloe is only a five minute walk away and Mullion Cove is just beyond that.
Falmouth
Opposite Falmouth and just inside the mouth of the beautiful Helford River, lies the Ferry Boat Inn, names because the passenger ferry across to Helford village starts and finishes from the jetty on the beach below the Ferry Boat Inn. The pub is also home to a complex of luxury self catered apartment, and as such is a hive of activity in the Summer. With the beach and beautiful coastal walks on either side of the pub, it is very popular with tourists and locals alike. The pub has a great restaurant and serves excellent food and has a great selection of local beers. Dogs are most certainly welcome and can easily play on the beach whilst you enjoy a pint.
