Biallid house is a beautiful, stately old manor type home. The house was comfortable and perfect for the family members of the bride and groom to spend a few days together before their wedding. It is conveniently located to the Cairngorms and surrounding areas. Jean, the housekeeper, is a beautiful soul and was pleasant to chat with.
Biallid is a historical country house based just outside Newtonmore. The house has been the family home of Clan Macpherson for centuries and there is a Museum in Newtonmore celebrating the family's extensive history.
The house has 7 bedrooms, 2 en-suite double bedrooms, 2 additional double bedrooms, 2 twins and a triple. There are also 5 bathrooms and 2 general cloakrooms.
Downstairs the house is perfect for large family and friend gatherings, with two large reception rooms and a well equipped kitchen with fridge-freezer, cooker and all the usual kitchen utensils required for large family entertaining. There is also a very handy bootroom, ideal for hanging wet coats and dirty boots after a long day walking in the mountains.
Biallid also has two and half miles of Salmon and Trout fishing on the River Spey and a further one and half miles on the River Calder. Guests can also organise Deer Stalking locally at Kingussie.
