Loved the views from the lounge window of the bay and boats bobbing in the water. Great patio area off the lounge for sunset watching. Comfy double bed. Good shower. Brilliant location and useful off street parking.
Set in the centre of the very popular, coastal village of Instow is Instow Beach Cottage, a lovely 3 bedroom apartment, sleeping up to 5 people and welcoming one dog. This beachfront apartment is set on the first floor of a house on Marine Parade which runs along the water-front and beach, and also benefits from its own private driveway and parking.
You enter Instow Beach Cottage on the ground floor into a large entrance hall which has loads of room for storing surfboards and bikes. There is a steep set of stairs leading to the first floor, but for those who don’t fancy these narrow stairs, there is also a small lift. Ideal for transporting luggage too!
At the top of the stairs, there is a single bedroom overlooking the beach and it is also where the lift arrives. It has a full-size single bed and a wash basin, as well as a chest of drawers. The other two bedrooms are located towards the rear of the apartment. These include a double bedroom with a double bed and wash basin and the third bedroom is a twin room. This has two full size single beds, a wash basin and is also home to the washing machine. The family bathroom is next to the double bedroom and has a bath with shower overhead, wash basin and WC.
The kitchen has been modernised and has fitted cupboards, oak worktops plus an electric oven with hob, microwave and fridge-freezer. There is a handy pantry for extra storage. A separate dining room has lovely views of the garden and “gothic” style table and chairs for 5 guests. The main living room runs along the front of the apartment and benefits from lovely views over the beach and sea beyond. Comfy sofas and a TV provides the perfect spot for relaxing after enjoyable days out. A door from the living room also leads out onto a balcony, which also overlooks the beach. An outdoor table with chairs have thoughtfully been provided to offer a wonderful spot for dining alfresco style or relaxing with a drink whilst the sun sets over the sea.
Down a few small steps, there is a private garden, nicely sheltered by trees. There is also a garage to the front of the house which has a useful tap for washing sandy surfboards and boots.

The very popular, coastal village of Instow enjoys a fantastic waterfront, a dog- friendly beach and is home to some excellent pubs, restaurants, art galleries, and the renowned Johns of Instow, delicatessen, cafe and shop. Upper Instow Beach Cottage is literally 100m away from The Instow Arms and The Boat House, two of the best pubs/restaurants in the area. A passenger ferry runs across the estuary to Appledore in the Summer and at very low tide, you can even walk! From many of the holiday cottages it is not far to the wonderful beaches on the North Devon coast, with Westward Ho! a short drive in one direction and Saunton Sands, further field the other way and both great surfing beaches. The Tarka Trail also runs through Instow and can be picked up by the sailing club. You can cycle for miles to Torrington via Bideford or to Braunton via Barnstaple. If fancy getting away from the coast, the wilds of Exmoor are about a 40 minute drive.
