Blare Cottage is one of six countryside cottages at Lower Aylescott situated just outside the small village of West Down, not far from the larger coastal resorts of Ilfracombe, Woolacombe and Combe Martin.
Tastefully decorated and thoughtfully furnished throughout, this bright and spacious family friendly holiday cottage offers comfortable self-catering accommodation for up to four guests in two bedrooms.
From the shared courtyard, guests access a light and bright open plan living area complete with a comfy lounge area with reclining sofas, TV and a DVD player, separate dining area for 4 and a well-equipped kitchen.Recently renovated, the kitchen is modern and bright and includes an electric oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, and washer/dryer. The two bedrooms are located on the first floor. These include a twin bedroom and a double bedroom, which share a family bathroom.
Outside, guests at Blare Cottage are welcome to relax in the communal courtyard and the extensive grounds at Lower Aylescott. There are over 4 and half acres of private grounds, two lakes and an outdoor children’s play area. Guests can fish the two lakes, with a rod licence and their own rods.

The six cottages at Lower Aylescott are set in a beautiful countryside location, set just outside the small village of West Down. Whilst, the village of West Down does have its own village shop, pub and church, the local amenities, shops, restaurants and pubs at Braunton, and the seaside resorts of Woolacombe, Ilfracombe and Combe Martin are also close by. The North Devon coastline and its glorious beaches is just a short drive away. The beaches at Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton are all popular choices for families and those looking for excellent surf. The wilds of Exmoor are also nearby and provides plenty of choice for excellent countryside walks. Local attractions nearby include National Trust Arlington Court, The Lynton Barnstaple Railway, Exmoor Zoo to name a few.
