The location of the cottages is in an incredibly pretty rural spot, quiet but not too isolated, there is an excellent pub nearby that does proper good food and is within easy walking distance; also Ilfracombe and Braunton are just a few miles away, both excellent places for cafes, restaurants and bars. There is an amazing amount of space and an adventure playground for children to let off steam and a well stocked fishing lake, all beautifully maintained. We stayed in Braefoot cottage and it was just ideal. A very clean, comfortable, tastefully furnished and well equipped property with lovely views down to the lake from both inside the house and the raised patio
Braefoot Cottage at Lower Aylescott is a wonderful barn conversion that offers families good quality self-catering accommodation in a truly peaceful and idyllic countryside setting, yet just a short drive to the popular coastal resorts of Ilfracombe, Woolacombe and Combe Martin.
This small collection of self-catering cottages at Lower Aylescott are ideal for families and friends looking for a rural ‘get away from it all’ retreat but still wish to be close to the stunning North Devon coastline. The popular and award winning beaches at Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton are all just a short drive away. The Victorian seaside town of Ilfracombe, home to Damien Hirst's Verity sculpture, the historic Tunnels beaches and a wide array of restaurants ( some now Michelin star) is also only a 10 minute drive and Exmoor National Park is also nearby and well worth a visit.
At the far end of the communal courtyard, Braefoot Cottage, comfortably sleeps up to 4 guests in two bedrooms. The ground floor has a spacious open plan living space where the lounge provides leather sofas, a TV with Freeview, and DVD player. The dining area comfortably seats 4 and leads onto the well-equipped modern equipped kitchen. Both bedrooms are serviced by a modern family bathroom that includes a bath with shower attachment, wash basin and WC.
